The TOSHIBA ST-71 is at the leading edge of compact, robust and integrated design with a low total cost of ownership. It is based on the world renowned ST-60 with the same open architecture as the proven ST-7000 series. A flexible design with two available spill-proof screen options. Easy Maintenance via slide-out modules and advanced connectivity with powered USB ports.

Advanced Connectivity

There are a wide variety of interfaces built into the ST-71 which include leading-edge USB V2 (24 V and 5 V) and powered serial (5 V and 12 V) which reduces the need for external power adaptors. Also RS-232C serial ports for existing peripherals and a 32-bit PCMCIA slot. This advanced connectivity will ensure that the ST-71 will work with not only existing peripherals but those likely to be released in the future, essential for low total cost of ownership.

Flexible design

The ST-71 has been designed to be as flexible as possible with 2 available screen options, 12 inch and 15 inch super-bright TFTs. The 15” screen provides a resolution of 1024 x 768 (XGA) while the 12” model has a resolution of 800 x 600 (SVGA). The 15” screen optimises the graphical capability of the POS providing the operator with a larger display, reducing the number of operator errors and allowing more fast keys to be incorporated on to the screen.

The optional magnetic card reader can be mounted on either side of the screen to optimise counter space where several terminals are used next to each other.
An optional fully integrated and tiltable customer facing display screen is available which can be used to display advertising material.

The ST-71 has been developed on the same architecture as the proven ST-7000 series providing complete continuity between compact and modular solutions providing the flexibility for the customer to decide on the type of configuration required.

The ST-71 is compatible with current Microsoft Windows and the certified Linux operating systems.

Based on PC architecture, the ST-71 can run both off-the-shelf applications and specific software developed by Value Added Resellers. As a key member of the OLE POS Committee, TOSHIBA TEC continuously promotes the standardisation of drivers for peripheral devices for the retail and hospitality market.
